Science fiction, small-scale racing and time with animals offer another view of her interests.
A science-fiction household
Haze remembers watching science-fiction television with her grandmother. Their viewing included Stargate, Tremors films and original productions on the SyFy channel.
She once described starring in a science-fiction series of her own as a dream. The appeal lay in unfamiliar worlds and unusual characters, alongside her longstanding interest in acting.
Racing and bowling
In a 2012 interview, Haze described racing quarter-scale radio-controlled cars. Swimming and barbecues with friends were also part of her account of life outside work.
Bowling came up in her 2014 interview with Creative Loafing. She had a ball weighted to suit her and reported a personal best of 172.
Life with dogs
Haze has repeatedly mentioned dogs in interviews about her everyday life. In 2014, she spoke about having an English bulldog and a mixed-breed dog.
She also recalled running an animal rescue when she was eighteen. Animals, social time and practical hobbies formed a very different part of her routine from studio work and public appearances.
